What We Do

We seek to provide a quality Christian program to enrich the lives of participants spiritually, emotionally and socially. Participation in the program is completely voluntary.

The core mission of Mission 1:27’s Adventure Center is to see youth introduced to the person and teachings of Jesus Christ and to encourage the spiritual growth of those who know Him through discipleship. Our programs will enhance growth and build character through positive and creative activities. Additionally, children will build healthy relationships with peers, becoming leaders within the community in which they live and play. We also offer academic enrichment opportunities through tutoring programs in some Centers and through the WaltonReads! Program.

Students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade are eligible to participate in the program, as space permits, when their parent or legal guardian completes and returns the Registration Forms and Acknowledgements in this packet. All children in the program must be current residents of Walton Communities and be named as an occupant on the lease agreement. Regular attendance is required in order to maintain participation in the Center program. Children who do not attend regularly may be dropped from the program to allow another student on the waiting list to be added.

Program hours are typically Monday through Friday, 2:30 pm – 6:30 pm, unless otherwise noted on the calendar. Adjustments will be made for early release days and half days. The Center is also open during some school breaks. See the calendar for complete details.

2018-2019 Curriculum

History Mysteries

Have you ever visited the ruins of the Incan Empire in Ecuador, watched camel races in Saudi Arabia, or heard Swahili spoken in Kenya?  Have you ever wondered what the weather is like in Japan, or how the food tastes in Mozambique?  The children at the Adventure Centers are experiencing all of these things (and much more!) as we travel the world through our enrichment curriculum this school year.  Together we are tasting national cuisines, visiting historical landmarks, experiencing local arts and crafts, and traveling through virtual reality to over 40 different countries.  Bring your passport and join us across the seven continents of our amazing world.

Walton Reads!

At the Adventure Center – Reading Takes You Places!  Reading is encouraged at the Adventure Centers.  Students who read over 2,500 minutes per semester are eligible for a special field trip.  Past field trips have included Six Flags, Andrettis, and Stone Mountain.

The Adventure Center program thrives with help from partners like Google! We are so grateful for their support and the impact it will have on the lives of our kids!
