Adventure Teens is a faith-based after-school leadership program for youth grades 6-12. The purpose of the program is to help teens develop positive character and life competencies that lead to success in school, work and life.

Program Structure: Twice a week teens meet from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The weekly program consists of:

  • Circle time which builds a sense of community and peer bonding through prayer, testimonials and updates on current announcements and opportunities to serve.

  • Growth time is structured for small group interactive discussion around a relevant topic that teaches one or more of ten life competencies of the program. Such as:

  1. Communication

  2. Self-management

  3. Self-awareness

  4. Decision-making

  5. Resiliency

  6. Relationship building

  7. Problem-solving

  8. Social-responsibility

  9. Empathy

  10. Goal-setting

  • Activity time. This is an opportunity for teens to participate in affinity groups where they have shared interest, such as basketball, volley ball, playing board games, writing poetry, etc… This time allows teens to have fun while learning team-building skills along with channeling physical energy in a positive way.

  • Life Trips. Once a month teens are taken on trips to help expose them to real- life situations. Teens experience professional development workshops, learning to shop within a budget, taking college tours, job shadowing, etc…

At Adventure Teens, we hope to create transformative experiences that change lives and change communities. For more information about this program, please email or call Kim Hardy ( or 734-377-1472).
